  • This will be a live online class using the Zoom video conferencing software.
  • You will receive a link to join the class in your booking confirmation email (NOT your payment receipt email. Please look for your booking confirmation email.)
  • Unless otherwise indicated in the class description, we recommend a minimum of a yoga mat plus 2 blocks, a belt and a chair.
  • If you do not have your own equipment, try alternatives such as books or folded towels for blocks, a dressing gown belt and a sturdy kitchen/dining chair that will not tip or slip.
  • It really is best to have a mat - if not, please use a wooden or lino/vinyl floor.  We do not recommend a carpeted floor.

LEVEL 1 CLASS


Level 1 classes are suitable for people who have started Iyengar yoga in our beginners' classes or have less than two years’ experience of Iyengar yoga.


They are also for anyone who prefers to consolidate their yoga practice at this level.


 

Professional profile

I started yoga early, but I certainly wasn’t a natural, although I knew it was good for me.  

Iyengar yoga appealed to me with its clear, precise instructions.  Over the years I gradually became more fascinated by yoga, eventually realising it needed to be my job.

I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2007 and got my Level 2 teaching certificate in 2018.  In the same year I spent a month studying yoga in Pune, India and I was lucky enough to be taught directly by the Iyengar family.

My approach to teaching is positive and encouraging.  I love hearing how students feel better for yoga.   I also enjoy watching students make progress.  I’m still learning so much about yoga myself and I’ll always be a keen student.   It’s a great pleasure to share my love of yoga as a teacher.
